If you have a good working knowledge of bushcraft then you'll appreciate that your most important piece of equipment is your knife. With a strong, sharp blade almost everything else needed to survive can be crafted from the land around you. But what if you didn’t have a knife? During this two day course you will be shown how to take a flint nodule and turn it into a variety of sharp tools. There will also be time to make a handle for your flint axe, shafts for your flint arrow heads and even cured animal hides, sinews and rawhide strips available for making a sheath for your flint knife. Many other natural materials can be harvested from the woodlands or will be provided and can be taken home for finishing projects in your own time.
Over the weekend you will learn:

The course will take place in a fixed woodland camp with plenty of covered and lit areas to carry on tool making in bad weather or after dark. All meals will be provided and everyone will get the chance to do a bit of back country cooking over the campfire. There will be instructors on hand throughout to give advice and help when needed.
