Our family weekends give you the chance to introduce the whole family to bushcraft. The pace will be a little slower with the emphasis on the family unit working together on each task, eg building a shelter from natural materials that the whole family can sleep in on the Saturday night. Skills such as all weather fire lighting and campfire cookery are something that everyone can get involved in and there will be opportunities over the weekend to discover the tell tale signs of woodland wildlife and learn some of the many uses of the surrounding plants and trees. All information will be presented in a way that children will find fun but will also prove interesting to parents.
Over the weekend we will cover...

The Wilderness Survival Skills instructors also have an array of games for children young and old, mostly involving the art of creeping about quietly and unseen in the woods and whenever we get the opportunity we'll demonstrate crafts such as how to make string or plaited cordage from plant fibres or whistles from twigs to keep little fingers busy around the campfire in the evening.
'We really enjoyed our few days and wanted to say thankyou for your hospitality and patience with everybody!' - David
'Hello Joe, just a quick email to say a really BIG thankyou to you and Glenn. I guess I know how much effort goes in to making stuff look effortless and I truly appreciate it - you both had a wonderful coaching/training style. I learnt so much on the two days and could happily have done a third day.' - Julia
The course assembles Friday evening for an initial safety brief at 7pm and finishes at approximately 4pm on the Sunday.
