A continuation into the advanced skills of the wilderness woodworkerThis advanced weekend course is a continuation of our increasingly popular Weavin’ and Whittlin’ weekend, concentrating on developing your green wood carving skills to enable the crafting of slightly more ambitious projects – dough bowls, Swedish inspired cups and ladles, maybe even a rustic three legged stool. As an additional by-product, you’ll also learn how to construct some clever and useful woodland work benches and holding devices and will receive further training with previously unfamiliar wood working tools.
Due to the advanced nature of this course, participants must have already attended our Weavin’ and Whittlin’ weekend or have a similar level of experience in carving and competency with sharp tools. The advanced whittlin’ and carvin’ weekend is run from our woodland base camp with plenty of quiet corners to set up a tent amongst the Hazel, Ash, Birch and Oak. The materials for your projects will have been harvested from these surrounding woodlands, as will some of the food no doubt.
All your meals will be provided, hot brews and biscuits will appear as if by magic and Instructors will always be on hand to offer advice and help when needed.
This course assembles at 7pm on the Friday and finishes at approximately 4pm on the Sunday.
